How do you get a message to display using the date object in Javascript?

I need the javascript code to display a message saying Happy Thanksgiving and it changes the background color to an appropriate color for Thanksgiving and this needs to be based on the date. When the date changes to Nov. 26 there needs to be a new message that says Merry Christmas and the background needs to change again and it needs to stop the day after Christmas. Thank you.
